Iron Fist

Hey Everyone,

This is Cat; decided it was about time to write my own blog and say hi to all you wonderful people out there.  I’ll let you know a little about myself. I’m the newest member to the fixation family; working here since the beginning of November.  I’m a 24-year-old artist, I love being creative.  And I love being able to express myself through the clothes and of course shoes that I wear on a daily bases.

Although I went to fashion school and pay close attention to the styles walking the runway at any given time, I really believe in finding what works for you. The biggest fashion advice I can give any of you is to make sure you feel comfortable, confident and sexy in whatever style you decide to sport on the streets.

My personal favorite brand of shoes that we carry that allows me to express my creativity outwards would have to be Iron Fist.  I’m sure lots of you reading this blog can agree with me that these shoes are unbelievable.  Each shoe is a piece of art and when you wear them out, everyone notices these shoes.  They come in many different heel heights (flats, wedges, 2 inch heels and 4 inch heels and even sandals for summer) All of the heights are pretty easy to walk in and the best part of these shoes….wait for it ladies….THEY ARE ACTUALLY COMFORTABLE  FOR MORE  THAN  5 MINUTES!!!

So whether your personal style is conservative or maybe a little bit more out there like myself, I definitely recommend a pair of these shoes.  Summer is just around the corner and what better way to celebrate the season then with a totally unique pair of shoes.  Match them up with your favorite pair of jeans or that cute little party dress!!!

Fashion is all about having fun!!!

Until next time, rock the streets like they’re your own personal runway!

And to all the men out there reading this blog, my next entry will be just for you, so keep those eyes open.  Have a great week everyone and enjoy this amazing weather we have been having!

Spring Promo 2010

My First Post!

My name is Taylor, I’m 19, am in my second year of university at the U of S, and have been working at Fixation for almost a year now! Since this is not about me my life story and more about fashion, in particular SHOES, maybe an explanation about my style would be more appropriate!

For some reason I have always gravitated to “old lady” clothes, now this is not to say that I wear pastel, floral, floor length dresses with orthopaedic shoes, but more like belted shift dresses, pearls, and classic pumps. Maybe this is the thrifty side of me coming out, but I would rather spend money on something I know will be in style forever if it’s an expensive purchase! Now this is not to say that I don’t pay attention to the trends from season to season. Fashion magazines like Marie Claire, Elle, and Vogue are monthly reads for me and are usually a source of inspiration, to an extent. I’m always looking for new pieces to add to my wardrobe that stand out, but also work well with what is already there! Buying a full out fit of a certain trend can be overkill and honestly, really expensive! Accessories are a great way to update your wardrobe season by season without breaking the bank and still keeping up to date!

For my first post I wanted to talk about one of the biggest trend of the spring/summer season… Neutrals!!! The soft fabrics and colors all over the runways and magazines right now, but how wear able is a full nude outfit? Not very if you ask me! A few weeks ago we got in the Loyyal by Steve Madden, and I have never been happier! This is the perfect example of a shoe that, while still being considered trendy, is such a classic piece to own!

The color of the shoe is actually “blush”, an ultra pale pink. Because of this it goes with either the black or brown color palettes! Hello matching problems solved! Just added to their greatness is the fact that they literally go with anything, shorts, dresses, skirts, jeans (both skinny or a wider leg style). But my all time fave part about them is they are skin colour, so that means ultimate elongation of the leg! And trust me when you are 5’2 and have the worlds shortest legs, its like a gift from god!
